Ministry wants to delay transfer of facilities to local software

MOSCOW, Nov 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry has suggested delaying the transfer of critical information infrastructure facilities to mainly local software to 2024 from 2021, according to a draft presidential decree prepared by the ministry and seen by PRIME on Monday.

“The facilities of critical information infrastructure, guided by an order approved by the government of the Russian Federation, are to switch to preferably Russian software by January 1, 2024 and preferably Russian equipment by January 1, 2025,” the document read.

The earlier deadline for the locally-made equipment was 2022.

The previous version of the document stipulated the use of not only Russian, but also Eurasian software.
